Mr. Jumabhoy is an experienced manager with a career spanning a number of industries, including banking, real estate and corporate management. He has served on listed company boards in the United Kingdom, India, Singapore, Australia and New Zealand. Most recently, Mr. Jumabhoy was Executive Vice President/Group Chief Financial Officer and a member of executive management of The East Asiatic Company (“EAC”), a Danish listed corporation with operations primarily in Asia. He was responsible for Finance, Information Systems and Investor Relations as well as restructuring and strategy. He was named best CFO in Denmark in 2005 by investors and analysts. He chaired the Indian subsidiary, Dumex India Pvt. Ltd. and built the business from a single employee to 250 employees in two years. Additionally, he led the acquisition, planning, development and financing of a 40 acre project in Ludhiana, Punjab, receiving subsidies from the state.
Immediately prior to EAC, Mr. Jumabhoy was CEO of Encorp Group (Property division) in Malaysia, responsible for various projects ranging from public housing to a high–end housing and a golf club project. Prior to Encorp, Mr. Jumabhoy was Executive Director and COO of Scotts Holdings Ltd. (now called the Ascott Group, Ltd.), a Singapore listed property development and management group. He was responsible for building the international business of the company in real estate development and in serviced apartments, growing the business initially in Singapore to an operation in seven countries. He focused on the identification, acquisition, structuring and development of various projects in India, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, the United Kingdom and Australia. These projects ranged from single office, condominium projects and mixed-use projects to township developments. In particular, he led the acquisition, development and master planning of a 200-acre township in Gurgaon, India, which was later sold at a 60% profit and the acquisition of a 150 acre property in Bangalore, India. He led Scotts’ investment in a company that was an early consortium member that master planned and developed ITP in Bangalore (recently listed on SGX as part of the Ascendas aREIT). He was also responsible for the listing of the company on the Stock Exchange of Singapore. Mr. Jumabhoy also worked at Continental Illinois National Bank and Trust Company of Chicago, responsible for its India, Africa and Middle East merchant banking origination, based in London and was chiefly responsible for bringing India banks to the London market.
Mr. Jumabhoy has an undergraduate degree from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom, and two graduate degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in the US: an M.S. in Ocean Systems Management and an M.S. in Management from the Sloan School of Management.
Mr. Segu is responsible for land and property
acquisitions, liaising with local, state,
and federal government agencies as well as
the establishment of development joint ventures
in India. Mr. Segu will also be responsible
for performing due diligence and providing
input to the investment committee regarding
the potential for return.
Mr. Segu grew up in Bangalore,
India where his family has been in multiple
business sectors and has a long history in
government. Additionally, Mr. Segu is a serial
entrepreneur with over 18 years of business
leadership experience in Silicon Valley. Mr.
Segu was a co-founder of ZenSutra, Corazio,
and Citadon. Mr. Segu had previously worked
with KPMG, Bay Networks, and Amdahl.
Mr. Segu is a graduate of
Arizona State University with double Masters
in Materials Science and Computer and Information
Systems.
Mr. Flynn is responsible for asset management related activities at the WIRE Group, including residential sales and marketing, commercial property tenancy acquisitions, and Hospitality (Serviced Apartment and Hotel) operations. Mr. Flynn has over 27 years of experience in the marketing, property, and hospitality industries. He has lived and worked in Canada, the United States, the UK, the Caribbean, and Asia.
Immediately prior to joining The WIRE Group, Mr. Flynn was the CEO of D.S. Flynn & Associates, a Marketing & Hospitality Consultancy with associates in the United States and Hong Kong, Canada and Singapore. The consultancy focused on clients in the serviced apartment, property development, and hospitality industries in Asia and North America.
In the 1990s, Mr. Flynn worked for Singapore based Scotts Holdings Limited, which owned and developed the Ascott and Palm Courtt brands of Serviced Apartments. He was initially responsible for the Group Corporate Planning during which time the Ascott brand of Serviced Apartment expanded into several markets throughout Asia and the UK, and became a leading force in the Serviced Apartment industry. He then assumed full responsibility for the business development and asset management of the serviced apartment brands in South East Asia and Australia. The Ascott is now the world’s largest Serviced Apartment Company outside of the US.
Immediately thereafter, Mr. Flynn led the marketing and sales effort for an exclusive residential estate in Malaysia with a total land area of over 500 acres for 317 prestigious homes, on 1-3 acre lots with a private 18-hole golf course, club house and central facilities. “Cahaya, The Sanctuary,” was targeted at the elite in Asia, and featured world renowned architects and designers.
Mr. Flynn then held senior executive positions in marketing intensive businesses in the US and Canada in the franchise industry. He was the President and CEO of Smitty's Canada Limited, Canada's largest family restaurant franchise with 120 units and over US$165 million in system sales. Under his leadership unit development grew by 15% per year, corporate profitability grew by 40% per year, and system sales grew by over 65% in a two year period. Earlier, he was the President of Shakey's Inc., USA, the franchisor of the Shakey's Pizza brand of restaurants based in Los Angeles.
Mr. Flynn began his hospitality career as F&B and Night Manager of a 5-star hotel in the Toronto area, following which he became an F&B consultant for Hotels in both Canada and the Caribbean. He then spent several years in senior management positions running multi-unit franchised brands in Canada and Asia.
Mr. Flynn attended the University of Regina, Canada, in the faculty of Business Administration, with emphasis in Finance and Economics.
Mr. McKernon is responsible for generating the project concept and executing the development plan within budget and schedule. He is also responsible for solidifying the development structure of WIRE, putting in place proper processes and procedures, solidifying partnerships and maintaining overall management responsibility for the architectural and construction management team internationally and coordination with the team on the ground in India. He provides oversight of the development process drawing on his experience at Santa Fe Partners (SFP) and Webcor.
Mr. McKernon has been working in India for over two years developing an in-depth understanding of the Indian property environment. He has travelled extensively throughout India and has developed relationships with a number of consultants in various disciplines and geographies, which are supplemental to the global architectural relationships that he has developed over the years. He has developed a methodology to leverage his experience and background in the India context, ensuring cost, schedule and quality control.
Prior to WIRE, Mr. McKernon was a founder and Chief Operating Officer of SFP, an integrated real estate developer whose principals have developed over 20m square feet and is the former in-house development arm of Webcor Builders. He was responsible for building the business from inception, overseeing the operations, ensuring continuity between SFP’s business lines, structuring joint venture relationships with value added partners and coordinating the acquisition, due diligence and development function on SFP’s first projects - Quarry Village in Park City, 310 Townsend, The Glassworks and One South Park in San Francisco. He also led the emerging market strategy and together with Iqbal Jumabhoy, was the primary driver in the creation of WIRE.
Prior to SFP, he started a real estate services division for Webcor, Inc. based on his experience with a prior investor, Bechtel Enterprises, the investment arm of the Bechtel Group, whereby a contractor’s interest is aligned with an owner/developer, creating over $100 million in development opportunities. He also worked on phase one of the construction of the 45 acre Electronic Arts campus in Redwood Shores, CA while at Webcor, among other projects.
Mr. McKernon was an early member of Citadon, a construction/development software company. Throughout his tenure at Citadon, he headed up Sales, Marketing, Business Development, Account Management and Latin America. He also worked as a consultant to Bechtel setting up and defining project controls on various global projects. Mr. McKernon was also an early member of a start-up business within Autodesk, Autodesk Data Publishing, which became an electronic architecture, engineering, construction CD-ROM publishing company. He was responsible for structuring joint venture relationships and licensing agreements with the Sweet’s division of McGraw-Hill, Construction Market Data Group (now part of Reed Elsevier), and John Wiley & Sons among others.
He is an Urban Land Institute Member and has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Vermont.
Mr. Mead will be responsible for design coordination and put in place construction quality. Mr. Mead has been working with WIRE in India for over six months understanding the inherent complications and limitations of construction quality in India and has designed a training program to instil the concept of quality and process for WIRE Project Managers and Site Engineers as well as the Site Engineers of the various contractors.. He has also travelled extensively in India meeting with contractors and other consultants understanding the methods of contracting as well as pricing methodologies.
Prior to joining Webcor, Mr. Mead spent five years living in Bangkok, Thailand and Jakarta, Indonesia working for Fluor Daniel's commercial division. While there, he oversaw diverse projects, including the Motorola Headquarters and Intercontinental Hotel in Bangkok, and the Conrad International Hotel, a high-end retail mall, Balinese Gardens, and office buildings in Jakarta. He was responsible for coordinating all of the consultants worldwide on these projects as the owner's representative.
Mr. Mead's construction experience began in Southern California as a project manager for C.L. Peck Contractor, one of Los Angeles' largest and most prestigious general contractors. Mr. Mead next worked for one of Southern California's largest developers, The Koll Company, managing projects in their construction group including MacArthur Court in Newport Beach, Jamboree Centre in Irvine, the Parker Hannifin Control Systems Division Facility in Irvine, and The Richard Nixon Library & Birthplace.
Mr. Mead is a member of several professional organisations, including CORENET Global (an International Association of Corporate Real Estate Professionals), NACORE (National Association Commercial Real Estate), NAIOP (National Association of Industrial and Office Parks), San Francisco Hotel Association, and is a board member of the East Bay Conservation Corps, the Oakland School for the Arts, and the Patrons of the Arts of the Vatican Museums.
Mr. Mead holds a degree in architecture from the University of California, Berkeley.
Mr. Bhargava is responsible for running and
managing WIRE's development projects throughout
India. He shall ensure compliance of WIRE's
development parameters at the project feasibility
and conceptualisation phase. He then works
through all the regulatory requirements to
ensure WIRE's projects receive the necessary
approvals in a timely manner. Thereafter,
in coordination with the extended WIRE team,
he is responsible for overseeing the delivery
and execution of WIRE's projects within schedule
and budget.
Mr. Bhargava has 25 years
of relevant work experience having worked
with a number of premier construction and
real estate companies in India. Prior to joining
WIRE, Mr Bhargava was head of development
for a mixed-use commercial project valued
at Rs 1000 crores in Chennai. Working as an
Assistant General Manager in the real estate
divisions for ANSALS and DLF, he was involved
in the completion of a number of prestigious
projects, namely Ansal Plaza (shopping mall),
Naurang House and Statesman House (commercial
multi-story buildings), Dhawan Deep (High-end
apartments), Saket Five star Hotel and the
Savitri Multiplex in Delhi. Mr. Bhargava also
worked as a Project Engineer for the Air Force
Naval Housing Board managing the development
and construction of 750 deluxe flats for Air
Force and Naval officers in Noida. His construction
experience began with Cimmco International,
a Birla group company, when he was in charge
of construction for the Tribhuvan University
in Nepal.
He is a graduate Civil Engineer from Delhi
College of Engineering, Delhi with a post
graduate diploma in Business management. |
